SUMMARY:Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind
DESCRIPTION:Forget everything you know about traditional theater! We have 60 minutes to perform 30 short plays. When the audience shouts a number\, the clock ticks\, and a brand-new story begins. Raw\, fast\, funny\, and deeply honest\, no two shows are ever the same. Grab your tickets and help us shape the show! \nPlease note\, some pieces do include mature themes\, strong language\, and adult-oriented humor intended for audiences 16 and older. \n“Allen’s tongue-in-cheek updating of a futurist entertainment… is unashamedly live and democratic theater.” – Chicago Reader \n“Pure artistic expression\, a sort of mental and emotional purging for the performers that\, quite often\, resonates in some way with the audience. Whether this resonance is characterized by laughter or a somber silence depends on the scene.” – Chicago Theatre Beat \nPerformance Dates: Thursday\, Fridays and Saturday\, July 23rd\, 24th and 25th at 8:00 p.m. \nCLICK HERE FOR TICKETS

SUMMARY:Silent Sky
DESCRIPTION:When Henrietta Leavitt begins work at the Harvard Observatory in the early 1900s\, she isn’t allowed to touch a telescope or express an original idea. Instead\, she joins a group of women “computers\,” charting the stars for a renowned astronomer who calculates projects in “girl hours” and has no time for the women’s probing theories. As Henrietta\, in her free time\, attempts to measure the light and distance of stars\, she must also take measure of her life on Earth\, trying to balance her dedication to science with family obligations and the possibility of love. The true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific discoveries\, when women’s ideas were dismissed until men claimed credit for them. Social progress\, like scientific progress\, can be hard to see when one is trapped among earthly complications; Henrietta Leavitt and her female peers believe in both\, and their dedication changed the way we understand both the heavens and Earth. \nDirected by: Charlotte YerpeStock \nPerformance Dates: Fridays and Saturdays\, April 3rd\, 4th\, 10th\, 11th\, 17th\, 18th\, 24th\, and 25th at 8:00 p.m.\, and Sunday\, April 12th at 2:00 p.m. \nCLICK HERE FOR TICKETS

SUMMARY:Lions in Illyria

SUMMARY:The Importance of Being Earnest
DESCRIPTION:The play follows the escapades of two charming bachelors\, Jack and Algernon\, who lead double lives to escape their social obligations. Jack pretends to have a wicked brother named Ernest\, whose mischievous behavior provides him with an excuse to escape his country life and pursue romantic interests in London. Algernon employs a similar tactic\, creating an imaginary friend named Bunbury whose frequent illnesses allow him to escape his social commitments in London and enjoy leisurely pursuits in the country. Their intricate web of deception becomes increasingly complicated when both men fall in love. The pursuit of love and marriage leads to a series of comedic misunderstandings and absurd situations. Through clever wordplay\, satire\, and hilarious characters\, Wilde critiques the superficial values and social expectations of the Victorian upper class\, particularly their rigid adherence to societal norms and their obsession with appearance. The Importance of Being Earnest humorously explores the lengths people will go in order to maintain a façade of respectability and navigate the complexities of love and marriage within a restrictive social framework. \nDirected by: Sam Martinez \nPerformance Dates: Fridays and Saturdays\, January 30th\, 31st\, February 6th\, 7th\, 13th\, 14th\, 20th\, and 21st at 8:00 p.m.\, and Sunday\, February 8th at 2:00 p.m. \nCLICK HERE FOR TICKETS

\nAUDITIONS FOR THIS PRODUCTION WILL CONSIST OF COLD READINGS FROM THE SCRIPT. \n*************************************************************************** \nThe Company OnStage\, Inc.
