She’s paid her dues throughout the years\, playing stereotypical supporting roles in second-rate shows\, and is ready for her star turn. Chaos in Belleville\, written by a white playwright\, might not be quite as enlightened a piece as she’s been hoping for — but that doesn’t mean it won’t sell out. And selling out is the question at the heart of Alice Childress’s comedy-drama. A cast of multigenerational Black actors rehearse under the purview of a white director and stage manager\, and as the rehearsal process unfolds\, theatre conventions and racial politics collide\, resulting in a surprisingly funny yet deeply piercing look at the entertainment industry. \nAUDITIONS FOR THIS PRODUCTION WILL CONSIST OF COLD READINGS FROM THE SCRIPT. \n********************************************************************************************************************* \nThe Company OnStage\, Inc. SUMMARY:Trouble in Mind
DESCRIPTION:A talented Black actress finally gets her chance to shine in a Broadway-bound anti-lynching play—but the journey to opening night reveals deeper conflicts behind the scenes. \nTROUBLE IN MIND is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals representing Samuel French\, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com \nPerformance Dates: Fridays and Saturdays\, April 2nd\, 3rd\, 9th\, 10th\, 16th\, 17th\, 23rd\, 24th at 7:30 pm and Sunday\, April 11th at 2 pm \nCLICK HERE FOR TICKETS

Soon she’s faking a terminal illness\, franchising her methods\, and contracting with a payday lender to offer 30-year loans for cookies. \nEMPOWERED: HOW ONE GIRL SCOUT NEARLY DESTROYED THE WORLD’S ECONOMY is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Playscripts. www.concordtheatricals.com \nPerformance Dates: Saturdays April 3rd\, 10th\, 17th\, and 24th at 11 am and 2 pm and Sunday\, April 18th at 2 pm \nCLICK HERE FOR TICKETS
