Our New Home and a Gala to Remember!

“This community did for us tonight, what they have done throughout our 45 years in existence…they showed up and let us know that they believe in the importance of the arts, and in our mission to keep live theater accessible and affordable.” Kathryn Noser, Board President

On Saturday, July 22, The Company OnStage hosted our 2023 Summer Gala at the Bellaire Civic Center. The event marked the return of our annual summer fundraising event; it was our first since 2019. Our Volunteer Special Events Committee planned a wonderful evening with donated catering from local Texas businesses, a silent auction, a donation drive, and featured a variety show full of local talent. The night was a resounding success! COS’s goal was to raise $10,000 to support building out our new location, our upcoming season, and other programs. By the end of the evening, we had raised over $12,000 dollars with more donations still coming in.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of our homecoming to Southwest Houston and the reveal of the address of our new location at 5720 G Bellaire Blvd. Kathryn Noser, our Board President, explained the build-out process for the space, which will begin once we receive our permits from the city. We also revealed the plans for the space, which we have included below. Our goal is to open the space and begin our 2023-2024 Season before the end of the year.  We are currently working on show selection for that season, and we will be announcing that information after we have a finalized timeline for opening.

We could not be more excited as we begin this next phase of growth for our organization, and we invite anyone interested in learning more about our theatre to follow us on social media and to sign up for our email newsletter. Our organization is overwhelmed with gratitude for all the support from our volunteers, sponsors, donors, guests, and our Houston community. We want to take this opportunity to say Thank You, and we promise to continue keeping live theatre accessible and affordable for the next 45 years and beyond.
