The Company OnStage proudly serves our local community by offering professional quality performances of contemporary and classic theatre for children and adults in an intimate setting at affordable prices. We are a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit that is entirely staffed and run by volunteers. We have a variety of volunteer roles with different time commitments. Please read through a brief overview of those roles and then use the form below to sign up to start volunteering with us.
Our Volunteer Positions:
- Hospitality/Concessions
- This role requires approximately a 2–3-hour time commitment tied to a performance at the theatre.
- Volunteers in this role will interact with guests, serve concessions both before the show and during any intermission, and clean the Concessions area after the show.
- Box Office
- This role requires approximately a 2–3-hour time commitment tied to a performance at the theatre.
- Volunteers in this role will interact with guests, sell tickets, check in patrons with reserved tickets, monitor the phone for any guests calling prior to the performance, and provide seating information.
- This role requires a training shift before volunteers can sign up for a regular shift.
- Work Call
- This role does not have a specific time commitment, but volunteers should monitor their email for information when these events occur.
- Volunteers in this role will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including set building, costuming, props design, painting, lighting, sound design, general organization, and maintenance of the theatre.
- This role is suited for all ages, and great for any students who need volunteer hours.
Join a Committee: For those who want to help continue to grow and shape the future of COS, we have committees focused on specific areas of our organization. These positions tend to require a larger time commitment, but some or most of the work may be done remotely.
- Business Operations Committee
- This committee focuses on ensuring the daily operations of COS are smooth and successful.
- Members support the Board of Directors with business planning and operational tasks.
- Education and Outreach Committee
- This committee’s goal is to maintain and grow the connection between COS and our community.
- Members work to support and run our summer C.A.M.P. program, connect with area schools and community groups, and host community focused events at the theatre.
- Fundraising Committee
- This committee works to find fundraising opportunities through grants and business partnerships to support COS programming and productions.
- Members also support the Special Events committee with the Summer Gala, our annual fundraising event.
- Marketing Committee
- This committee is responsible for the physical and digital marketing of the theatre itself, as well as individual productions.
- Members work on creating content for social media, email, and print marketing products, while also supporting the distribution of those products.
- Production Committee
- This committee supports the production side of the organization and includes a variety of roles focused on ensuring our shows continue to maintain a high level of artistic integrity while engaging and entertaining our community.
- Members utilize their skills to support each production or series, including costuming, set building, painting, creating props, selecting scripts to recommend for future seasons, and serving as production coordinator.
- Special Events Committee
- This committee is responsible for planning special events throughout the year, including the COS Summer Gala.
- Members work to secure vendors or donations to support the event, set up/tear down the event, and run the event with additional volunteers.
- Volunteer Recruitment Committee
- This committee is responsible for actively recruiting the volunteers needed to help COS achieve its mission.
- Members work to find and connect with new volunteers, while supporting ongoing engagement from current volunteers to staff COS performances, Special Events, and Committees.
