Take your first step toward stronger, more confident auditions with the launch of Steps OnStage, our new workshop series designed to support actors at every stage of their journey. Whether you’re returning to the craft or already building your skills, this focused session will help you refine your audition presence and elevate your monologue work—all in a supportive, community-driven environment.

Led by Mak Secrest, Artistic Director at The Company OnStage, this hands-on workshop offers personalized guidance and practical tools that participants can put to use immediately.

What You’ll Explore

• Audition Etiquette & Best Practices
  Learn what directors look for, how to present with confidence, and how to navigate the audition room like a pro.
• Small Group Monologue Work
  Receive individualized coaching as you strengthen your delivery, choices, and character work.
• Mock Audition
  Perform your favorite monologue for Mak and a panel to receive constructive, encouraging feedback.

What to Bring

Participants are encouraged to bring two contrasting monologues—one dramatic and one comedic. Memorization is preferred.
