After the first weekend of performances for “The Charitable Sisterhood Christmas Spectacular”, we checked in with the Director, Bret Hainley, to ask him about the show.
Question 1: Why did you want to direct this show?
Stacy Bakri asked me to direct it, and I owed her a favor.
Question 2: How would you describe your vision for this production?
As close to the demands of the script as I could get.
Question 3: How has the rehearsal process been for this show? What has been exciting? What has been challenging?
Like all Christmas shows, it’s been a nightmare. Between actor drops and rehearsals lost to holidays, its only through the magic of my amazing cast that we were able to put up a show at all, much less the awesome show they’re doing.
Question 4: What has been your favorite moment so far?
The first laugh, Friday night.
Question 5: What should the audience be excited about seeing or experiencing at your show?
I’m not so arrogant as to impose my own views on the audience. I hope they get a few laughs out of it and maybe enjoy their night.
